The first Latin American Meeting Youth and Environment was held at the Legislative Palace of San Lazaro in Mexico City from 21 to 23 October 2015. This meeting was organized by the Movimiento de Jóvenes por el Agua, A. C. (MOJA), in collaboration with the Legislative Museum “Los Sentimientos de la Nación” of the Legislative Palace of San Lazaro ( Mexico ) , Global Water Pathership Centroamerica and La Ruta del Clima. Over 120 young people participated at this event, from the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, and Argentina among others. At this meeting, a forum for exchange of experiences where young people from different Latin American countries participated in panels presenting projects, proposals and initiatives made in their country to confront climate change on the issue of water, biodiversity, local development and protected natural areas. Also, workshops were conducted for the reflection of these issues. The participation of representatives of ECLAC, UNAM and CONAGUA in lectures was also taken. These meetings are an opportunity for us young people to get involved, to become aware, perform actions for the conservation and improvement of the environment.
